Photo Meme 30: a photo of you when you were happy

I was so amazingly happy after Ollie was born. I can’t put it into words. My family felt so complete and whole. I wasn’t pregnant anymore. Oliver was nursing like a champion. He was so cute. Landon was super funny. Even Bobby seemed to be doing okay, despite the lack of sleep and general crazy a new baby brings. I was also a little naive. When we had to take Oliver to the hospital, it was jarring. When he got so sick, it was shattering. Suddenly I realized how easy, how crazy, it is to lose someone you love. The horror was so close to home. And he got better, and he’s adorable, and I love my family, and I’m so blessed to have them.

But that perfect happiness I remember? Was real? Did I imagine it? All I can tell you is that I never got it back, not all the way. Maybe I’ve glorified that week where Ollie was home and healthy in my head.

But I remember being SO HAPPY.

So here is a picture from that week, a picture that is filled with so much happiness it makes me hurt.

Picture Meme day 29: a photo of someone you find attractive

Well, that’s an easy one. I’m extra lucky in that I think my husband is increasingly hot! Very attractive!
So here are a few pics to prove my point.

This is from when we were building the house in AJ.

Nothing sexier than a man cooking you breakfast in his PJs

well, except maybe a father who loves and cares for your joint children, that’s pretty hot too, in it’s own way:

I am so lucky to have such a wonderful, loving, caring, amazing, sexy husband!

Photo meme day 28: a photo of what you ate today

I started out the day thinking I would take a picture of every meal, but I forgot. So here is a picture of breakfast. The mug is filled with iced tea.
For lunch I had Qdoba, and for dinner we had chicken and potatoes.
Now I’m going to have a peanut butter cookie.

Photo meme 27: a photo of last Christmas

Last Christmas was stressful. We felt VERY overprotect of Ollie, since he had been so ill so recently. Everything was kept pretty low key. In fact, some key people from the larger family Christmas were also missing. Overall, it was a good Christmas.

Picture Meme 25: a photo of a night you loved

A night I loved? Well, I can think of many, but most of them I don’t have uploaded pictures of 😉
So, lets talk about a few nights that I love, where there is photo proof.

This picture was taken just before one of my favorite birthday nights ever. Fyr and I were celebrating our birthday and decided to get tickets for the Portland Spirit dinner cruise. The people in this photo were like a mini family during the years we lived in Portland. I miss the gang on regular basis, even knowing that this group will most likely never reunite.

This birthday was pretty awesome.

Since our return to AZ, Bobby and I have a family Christmas tradition of our very own. We take our family and go to “Holiday Hill” at Val Vista Lakes. Its a small hill covered in Christmas lights, and for the price of canned food (which is donated to the homeless) you can take your family and enjoy the lights. We have gone every year. Last year was particularly special to me, as it was the first time Ollie got to go. To think a few short weeks earlier, we hadn’t been sure that he would even be alive, let alone out of the hospital to enjoy a night like this. I am looking forward to going again this year!

And of course, I love Thursday nights! The most special Hench gatherings of the year all take place in the next few months. We have Hench-oween, Henchgiving (which is actually on the Friday after Christmas) and Henchmas every year. Here is the group at Henchmas last year. I love these people!
