9 and a party

Weekend was good. We had dinner with friends Friday night at Spinatos, one of my favorite places to eat. Saturday we went to the castle. We let Landon have $12 this time, and he won almost 400 tickets.
After lunch we went to Jesse and Gabe’s joint birthday party, which was fun.

Saturday night I felt ill, so we watched Supernatural, but went to bed early. Sunday morning Bobby took Landon over to play at Emily’s house, so I had time to myself. I went out and did some Christmas shopping. It was nice to have some me time. I also finished reading “An Echo in the Bone.” I was not thrilled with it, especially the end. Especially since it’s going to be another 3-4 years before the next one comes out.
Sunday evening we got in the Spa, and after Landon went to bed we caught an episode of Fringe.
I have today off, so Bobby worked from home and we took a lunch break to go see 9. Again, I liked it, but I was disappointed with the ending. Also, post apocalyptic steam punk is weird.
I’m so ready to have this baby. At the same time, it seems almost surreal that it’s almost time to have this baby. My belly seems huge, and I keep bumping into things. I’m in some amount of pain as well, although it’s normal preggo pains. I can’t sleep for more than 4 hours without a bathroom break. FIVE MORE WEEKS TILL FULL TERM! (full term is 37 weeks, normal term is 40 weeks.)

You Do!

Well, it looks like we are going to the “Castle” tomorrow. Landon managed to go the whole week without tears when being dropped off at school, so Saturday we will take him to Golfland and let him play in the arcade for a while. He was a bit of a pill getting ready for school on Tuesday, but Thursday and Friday morning both he was happy and well behaved, with no outbursts at all. I’m very proud of him.

Landon was too cute yesterday. Bobby hadn’t slept well, so I told him to go back to bed and I’d take care of Landon.
As I was getting Landon ready for school, he asked to see Dada. I explained that dada didn’t feel well, so we needed to be quiet.
Landon asked me, “Dada sick?”
To which I replied, “yes, a little, but he will pick you up after school!”
Landon, “NO! Dada sick. YOU DO!”

I thought it was cute!

pregnancy is so much fun

Well, it looks like we are going to the “Castle” tomorrow. I have exactly one week and one month until I reach “full term” on Oliver. By my due date calculations Nov 2nd would be the first day of the 37th week. I know my doctor has me with an earlier due date, but I would be worried if Ollie came before Nov 2nd. I’m getting more and more uncomfortable with each passing day. This morning while helping Landon get dressed, I bent over too far, and ended up with a stabby pain around the round ligament area. It hurt so bad I saw stars. I sat up and it went away completely. I have got to stop bending over.

I’m going to have to go back and see if I felt this done with Landon at this point. 9 more weeks of pregnancy seems like a long time right now. I am looking forward to the baby shower though!

Ollie has been transverse a lot at night. I’m concerned (only slightly at this point) that he’s not head down. He’s still got a lot of room to move it seems, despite me feeling like I’m the size of a house. He just did a major shift from left to right as I was typing. It’s still weird to me to watch my whole belly shift like that.

I’m going to lunch with a friend and getting a free milkshake at Red Robin. Yum.

Another friend of mine, who works for the public school system, got her Swine Flu (H1N1) vaccine yesterday at work. If you guys hear of anyplace local giving the vax, let me know? I can’t find it yet, and I know I’ll feel better once I’ve had it.

lack of sleep, watch me go!

Landon went to bed with a fever last night. I gave him some motrin at bedtime and he slept till about 2am. Then he was up every 5 to 30 minutes for the rest of the night. He seems better today, so I’m hoping he can go to school tomorrow. I had some vacation to burn, so I was taking today off as an Ollie and Jen day. I was going to do a little shopping, watch some TV, and work in the nursery a little bit more. Since I ended up keeping Landon home from school, the only thing on that list I accomplished was the TV during nap time. I watched Vampire Diaries and 2 episodes of Babylon 5 season 1. I borrowed the whole series from a friend, and my goal is to get through it all before I go back to work from my maternity leave.

Landon does not like staying home. He keeps asking to go to the store, the park, the castle, and even to school.

We had a pretty laid back weekend. Bobby went to a Thai cooking class Friday night and had an interesting time, although he was not impressed overall with it. Landon and Emily got to play while we gamed at J&G’s place.

Saturday we were lazy and didn’t do much other than get in the pool. Sunday we took Landon to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, which he was rather well behaved for and seemed to enjoy. It’s a little sad to me that we’re just getting to the point where I feel okay about taking Landon to the movies for G/PG flicks, and we’re about to add Ollie, so it’ll be three more years before we really can reliably go see flix at the movies.

I babysat Landon and Emily Sunday so that some of our friends could go rock climbing at the phoenix rock gym. I know they had a great time! Maybe after I’ve had this baby I can go if they go again, and I can find a sitter. Okay, so more like six months from now is the earliest I could do it, but still!

Landon’s school did school pictures this week. His first school pictures! My goodness. Also, his first ever scholastic book order went out this week. I ordered enough books to cover me for Hanukkah, so I won’t have to worry about buying him anything for that now. I just need to pick up a couple of board books to give Ollie for Hanukkah now.

I’ve started Christmas shopping already as well, although I haven’t gotten very far on that front. It’s hard to do this early, plus, as always, I plan to order a bunch of things off Snapfish with pictures on them, so I have to wait till Ollie is here to even work on them. (I need Ollie photos to complete things)
