Weekend was interesting.
Friday we went out to see our house. The framing is done, and I’ll come back to this later, at the end of the post where the pictures are.
Saturday morning we got up and headed out to brunch at Atlanta Bread Co. I had a very yummy waffle, and some tea, around 10ish.
We then went back to the apartment and Bobby went over to Game Depot for the Hordes event, http://privateerpress.com/HORDES/default.php, where he had a ton of fun all day.
I went to yoga class. When I got to yoga, I had a small paper cup of water (this will matter later). We had a sub for class, and she was really good, but very different from the other teachers I’ve had. She kept us moving, and the class felt less like stretching and more like a workout, which was a nice change of pace. After class I had another paper cup of a water, and went on my merry way.
I stopped by a gas station, and ended up waiting in line to get my car washed. Then I went over to Borders to see if they had any labor prep books that looked good. After that I called Bobby, around 2:30ish. He said he was having a blast and would be there for a while, so I thought I would go to the mall and check BN.
This was a great plan, except that about 2 miles from the mall, I got shakey. All my limbs began to shiver, and I felt rather faint. It grew steadly worse. I pulled into a parking spot in front of the BN, and really wasn’t sure I was going to make it into the mall. I knew that driving was a bad idea at this point, so I thought about what could be causing this. I then realized that all I had put into my body today was a waffle (smothered in whipped cream, powdered sugar, and maple syrup) About 32 oz of tea, and two tiny paper cups of water. Given that I usually ingest at least twice that much food, and around 80 oz of water, plus a glass of milk by this time on a normal day, I had a pretty good idea why my body hated me.
I managed to get to food court and get some food in me, and water. It took a while to pass. I was just getting ready to call Bobby and tell him to come get me at the mall, when I started to feel better. I had three water bottles at the mall.
I hit Atomic Comics and pre-order The Devil’s Panties comics that are coming out. I read the first issue and it was very good. http://devilspanties.keenspot.com/
BN and Borders both were a bust on the labor books, so I will probably order online. I’m thinking of getting Ina May Gaskin’s Guide to Natural Childbirth, and The Thinking Woman’s Guide To a Better Birth by Henci Goer.
Anyway, still not feeling 100%, I went to visit Bobby at Game Depot, but didn’t stay very long before heading home. Bobby took either 4th or 5th in the tourney, and got a neat poster out of it. He came home and took me out to Nellos, and we watched the Supernatural and the Dr. Who TiVo had for us. Supernatural was good, but I suddenly realized that vampires really don’t frighten me at all anymore, must be over exposure. The Dr. Who was most excellent.
Sunday we had fun, did some shopping, and had dinner with Dirk and Laura, where we played board games. Overall a very good day on Sunday.
Last night though, I had a horrid time sleeping. I just had weird surreal dreams that were not restful and kept waking me up. As a result, today I feel exhausted.
Okay, so the house is looking good, the framing is done, and we submitted a request for the next draw from the bank, although we are a little worried the bank will come back and tell us to do more sheathing on the house first. We’ll have to see. I am very excited about the house, but I wish we could hurry up and complete it. I don’t really like the apartment all that much, and miss my stuff that’s in storage. Plus I would feel so much more prepared for Lan if we could start buying things, get his room set up and the like.
Anyway, so we were almost done with lot and house on Friday when we noticed a fire in our neighborhood. This was very odd, the flames seemed to be very tall, and there was a ton of smoke. We hopped in the car and went to go see what was going on, but before we found the fire, the smoke went away, and you couldn’t see flames, so we never did find it. Fire out in our neighborhood is a big deal, because we don’t have running city water, just wells, and we are on county property, not city, so firemen supposedly take longer to get to us, and have no fire hydrants to assist in fire fighting. I hope no one was hurt or anything. We wonder if it could have been a bonfire or something, hopefully not a house.

These are from the outside:

This is the FIRE!

Oh yeah! And on Saturday night I had my first stranger (read person who didn’t know me at all) ask me when I was due, so I guess I look pregnant! It was the cashier at Micheals, around 8:30 on April 22nd.
